More often than not we have some kind of project in process. The most recent of which was the re-decoration of the auditorium and principal dressing room.

Our biggest project  was the renovation of the roof, the installation of central heating and paving of the front path which was completed in July 2001.

In March of 2006  we decided that we ought to do something to improve the quality of  our auditorium seating. During the process of evaluation we discovered that the existing fabric was genuine Victorian plush, last manufactured in 1920. This confirmed what we had really known all along, that the seating was too much a part of  the theatre’s unique ambience to be replaced.

Fortunately, we  found an upholsterer who has the skills and capacity to re-spring  and generally renovate the seats only; which is basically all we need to significantly improve the comfort level. (He is also prepared to take seats on an ad hoc basis.) However, this costs £50 + VAT per seat and we have 66 seat. i.e. We need to raise a total of £3,877.50.

Response for donations have been tremendous and all the seats have been refurbished.
